Leveraging the PACs

PACs raise a lot of money early. More and more will do what Gov. Mark Warner has done with his MapChangers voting function. Namely, letting us decide where he should send the cash.

What strategy do you espouse in 2006? Storm the Mountain West? Wrestle back every single house seat in New England and New York?

There have been tons of strategies, some workable, some dumb, proposed here on MyDD by folks who watch the scene closely enough that we should know how to take the next step.

Whenever they give me the chance, I'm steering every PAC I can find to dish their bling to the House races in Mountain States.

I'm all about the Fighting Dems so in 2 minutes, I got the former Governor to help out Jay Fawcett. He was impressive in Vegas, so he's got my, er, Warner's support.

Re: Leveraging the PACs (none / 0)

Take a good hard look at the PA-09th.  The Pennsylvania 9th Congressional district has been Republican since there were Republicans, you could not find more of a GOP home turf if you wandered into 310 First Street, SE,  Washington, DC. (RNC HQ for those of you who don't know)

All the more reson to help out a worthy, progressive candidate like Tony Barr

Tony Barr is a special education teacher from Claysburg PA.  He's as progressive a Democrat as they come.  Tony Barr is exactly the kind of candidate that Progressive Pennsylvania voters have been yearning for.  Tony exhibits the kind of common sense and leadership that our framers wanted from a member of the House of Representatives.

But can he win?

Well, in three weeks Tony Barr managed to pull down about 2,000 write in votes, yes, I said it 2,000 WRITE IN VOTES for the PA primary (The number was 1,776, for a while there, how's that for an omen)

That's with 26% Democratic Turnout and with new computerized voting machines.

What the polls and numbers and experts won't tell you is that whatever numbers the GOP has on the PA-9th are incredibly soft, Republicans might vote for "Bud-lite" Shuster but they must be holding their noses to do it.  Tony Barr can win!!!

The long sufferring Democrats in the PA-09th need your support today!!!!
